Hello and welcome to my Web Page!
I am Mr. Evans and I teach 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade STEM Classes; also, I am the Louisville Middle School Athletic Director, coach 8th grade volleyball, and 8th grade girls basketball.
A little about me! The 2016 - 2017 school year is my 14th year here at Louisville Middle School and I LOVE teaching! I have been an Ohio High School Football and Basketball Official for 23 years working in the various schools around Stark County and Ohio. I did serve four years in the United States Air Force active duty, and three years of reserve duty. I am married to my beautiful wife Stacey who teaches 6th grade Science at Pfeiffer Immediate School in Perry. We have an ornery 17 year old boy, named Tyler, who acts in plays and play his clarinet, violin, and piano. The three of us share our home with three dogs, Maggie a 9 year old Bernese Mountain Dog, Boomer a 8 year old Golden Retriever, and Isabella a 3 year old Bernese Mountain Dog. We also have one cat Monkey a 15 year old all black cat.
Make sure you visit my AGENDA page that is where all my weekly assignments, notes, homework, bell work, spelling lists, vocabulary lists, etc.
When the students arrive in my classroom they should read the whiteboard. It is here that I will communicate the daily learning outcomes, bell work, and daily topics of discussion. We will always start with some type of bell work or warm up activity such as a Need to Know Vocabulary Words and Mavis Beacon Typing practice.
My classroom rules are:
1. Respect everyone and everything around you
2. Come to class on time with all necessary materials ready to participate and learn.
3. Follow directions the first time they are given.
4. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.
5. Be in your seat when the bell rings. I dismiss you; the bell does not!
Daily classroom arrival procedures:
A. Greet Mr. Evans with a SMILE!
B. Read the Smartboard or White Board for the daily bell work
C. Begin working on the assigned Bell Work until further instructions are given.
Each week I give a classroom AGENDA and all the student's homework for the week, that is right, I give the students ALL of their homework for the week. On this agenda you find Homework Due Dates, Topics of Discussion in Social Studies and any other important Classroom information. It is ESSENTIAL that you take the time and check your Agenda NIGHTLY to make sure you have all of your homework done or know if there are any tests or quizzes coming up. Again you will find the Weekly Agenda on my AGENDA page.
Thanks for visiting my website and I look forward to another GREAT Year here at LMS!
GO LEPS!!!
